How to increase comfort during travel and combat Jetlag
Light therapy –
Lying in the sun will assist your body to reset it’s internal clock. This means also that you should dim the lights and avoid all electronic devices preferably 3 hours before bedtime.
Melatonin –
Melatonin is a natural sleeping aid to help you establish normal sleeping routines. Your pharmacist will recommend the right dosage for your body weight. Take 30min before you want to fall asleep but make sure you are in bed when taking it.
Exercise –
This is a difficult one but it actually works. The improvement of circulation addresses all of the abovementioned concerns. It’s just about putting your joggers on and taking that first step!
Cupping Therapy –
This is a great alternative to improve circulation and assist with pain relief. Cupping Therapy has been used for centuries to improve the health of the body. The hand-squeezed silicone cups allows for movement massage as well. With this technique, you can glide away the fluid retention, address your sore areas such as your neck or back and restore any numbness from sitting too long. The transparency of the cups allows you to keep an eye on the treated area at all times. This will help you to know when it’s time to remove the cup. Cupping is also very sedating, allowing for a deeper sleep and the treatment of insomnia. This is thanks to the calming of the parasympathetic nervous system, which controls your inability to switch off.
Hydration –
Thirst is the last sign of dehydration. Feeling tired or irritable can be a direct cause of drinking too little pure fluid. Load up and try to get to 8 glasses for the day, every day. This will even help with those dry eyes!
