Allopathic medicine as we know it, aka going to the GP for a prescription, has only been around for 100 years. Before that, it seems that life was healthier and also a lot less fast paced than today. Our grandmothers never had cellulite and aged a lot better. We need to investigate where ancient wisdom made a change, and reintroduce it to be a part of our daily lives.
Yoga:
No surprise here, but Yoga stems from Indian Culture. Yoga gained popularity in the Western World during the 80’s. It is surely a way of life for most people in the East. It is literally a life discipline. Slow rhythmic movements combined with deep breathing is used to improve flexibility. It also brings focus to the mind and relaxes the muscles and tissues. This is done daily, and surely explains why those who practice Yoga are much more agile!
Brushing and flossing is considered new age when you compare how long we have been cleaning our teeth this way! Swirling oil was the way to go for our forefathers, much like you would use a mouthwash. It has a great effect on dental care and cavity prevention. Oil swirling can reach where brushing and flossing can’t. Bacteria and plaque are oil-soluble particles, and literally melts into the oil when you swirl it. It also pulls toxins from the body through one of your most important detox organs, the tongue. The benefits of Oil Pulling also gives you fresher breath for longer, so no need to chew gum for hours on end to mask any odours!
This ancient practice is one of the first medical treatments to come into existence. It is however unfortunately seen as alternative medicine since the last 100 years. A specific cup is placed on an area of concern and left stationary for a few minutes.
You have probably seen some celebrities flashing their own set of cup marks on their backs. Most popular are celebs such as Jennifer Aniston, David and Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow. We call the marks cup kisses and these are just an indication of toxicity in the body.  The treatment is aimed at removing toxins from the body as these cause problems such as pain, ageing, inflammation and even cellulite.
There are some great home systems available such as the Bellabaci Cupping Massage System. The cups are convenient and easy to use, hand-squeezed vacuum suction cups. Used to massage the body, and not only left in one place, so you will not be left sporting cup kisses for the next week! It is a fantastic way to detox the body (goodbye cellulite!) and to help relieve pain.
